When you submit your application for Redress WA, it must be on an official application form. Practical assistance for completing applications will be available from by contacting Redress WA. The ex-gratia payment will be based on the severity and impact of the abuse suffered. Are there conditions for accepting an ex gratia payment? Yes, ex gratia payments will be made dependent upon the applicant signing a Deed of Settlement and Release indemnifying the Minister and the State of Western Australia from any current or further legal claims arising from the same experiences of alleged abuse . Applicants will be provided with access to independent legal advice to assist them in making an informed decision about the 'Deed of Settlement and Release'. Access to independent financial counselling will be available upon request to applicants who are offered an ex gratia payment.
